Replace old fillings

Treatment Explanation
In the past, cavities were often filled with amalgam: a dark, metallic material. Although amalgam is very strong, it is not very visually appealing. In addition, old fillings can leak over the years or new tooth decay can develop underneath. In those cases, or if you prefer to get rid of them for aesthetic reasons, we are happy to replace old fillings with modern, white variants.

White composite fillings

We only use high-quality composite when replacing. This is tooth-colored, so we can perfectly match the filling to the natural shade of your teeth. No one needs to see that you have fillings anymore.

When do we replace a filling?

We recommend replacing a filling if it shows fracture lines, if we detect leakage (a crack between filling and tooth), or if there is new tooth decay (secondary caries) underneath. Does your old silver filling still appear to be in perfect condition and are you not bothered by it? Then from a medical point of view it does not need to be replaced immediately, we always discuss this transparently.
