Filling holes
How does the treatment proceed?
- Control and consultation: We examine the hole, take an X-ray if necessary and discuss the treatment with you.
- Anesthesia (if desired): To make the treatment completely painless, we always offer the option of a local anesthetic.
- Cleaning: We carefully remove the affected dental tissue (caries).
- Filling: The cavity is built up layer by layer with composite and cured with a blue lamp.
- Finish: We polish the tooth smooth so that the filling feels comfortable and natural in your mouth.
After treatment
When the treatment is complete, you can eat and drink normally again after the anesthesia has worn off. It is normal for the tooth to be slightly sensitive for a few days with hot or cold food and drinks. This will go away on its own.
Rates and compensation
The costs for a filling depend on the size of the hole (the number of areas that need to be filled). On average, the costs for filling a cavity are between €50 and €100. Do you have additional dental insurance? Then the treatment is often (largely) reimbursed. We can always give you a price indication prior to the treatment.
